We've done it!

Ninety-two clubs, 2,762 miles, 12 days, 19 signed shirts donated, 12 signed footballs, plenty of cash donated- not bad for two-weeks work.

An action-packed ground-filled, mad-dash of a last day as we reached the conclusion of our trip with 12 stadiums to visit.

After managing to squeeze in Hull City's impressive KC Stadium last night we were ready for the challenege ahead.

Similar to last weeks meeting with the Carling Cup, only a glass pane separated me from the European Cup during a visit to Nottingham Forest's trophy room.

The impressive City Ground, smothered with past glories, was the highlight of today as we travelled across the East and West Midlands to complete our feat.

A cold, misty Grimsby was our opening stop with a quick picture at Blundell Park, taken with Meatloaf and Queen blasting out of the club's PA system.

Elsewhere, Chesterfield's Saltergate ground served as an oasis to tradition with terracing, wooden seats at the fourth oldest club in the country and, trivia time, the last to get floodlights in 1968.

After a stop at Wolves and The Hawthorns we arrived home at 9pm, exhausted but buoyed by memories of the past fortnight.

All of the days merge into one long blur of stadiums, motorways and hotels but more importantly we now have a bus full of football booty to auction off.

As the final whistle is blown on the 'Stadiums for Steve' tour, I can't think of a better way to have honoured my friend, one of football's most passionate, obsessive and devoted disciples.
