MASTER of horror AG Smith will be reading two of his most popular ghost stories at Dudley Library to get people into the Christmas spirit.

The acclaimed Kinver based author has been sending shivers down the spines of audiences across the West Midlands and beyond since 2009 with his annual ghost story readings.

Author of stage plays An Evening of Delectable Terror, The Walpurgisnacht Hauntings and The Dead of Night, he will be making his first ever appearance at Dudley Library next month - in the atmospheric reading room to give people a festive chill.

AG Smith, of Weeping Bank Productions, will be reading two original spine-tingling tales as it gets closer to Christmas – a time traditionally associated with the telling of ghost stories.

He said: “I attended Dudley College in 1993 and spent many happy years in this great town. I am a local author and Dudley always holds a special place in my heart. It is also the true home of horror as the incredible James Whale - director of so many classic horror movies including Frankenstein - was born here.”

The evening of storytelling will take place on December 1, starting at 6.45pm.

Tickets for the Silent Nightmares event are free but must be booked in advance.

They can be reserved by calling Dudley Library on 01384 815560 or email dudley.libraries@gll.org.
