Shortly the people of the United Kingdom will be asked to cast their vote to their choice of whether or not we should stay in or opt out of our membership of the European Union. For some it will be a vote of conscience, but others will be driven by bitterness and resentment.

I believe we as a nation should remember why the UK joined in the first place with this in mind, I will endeavour to explain why we did join, but first why was it introduced, what was the purpose?

There are three primary reasons; To ensure or secure world peace; To help poorer countries; To help deter international crime.

Yes I agree with some, life could be better, but then, as the saying goes, nothing is perfect, but saying this we should think deep and then maybe come to the conclusion that life could be a lot worse for us if we were no longer a member of the EU.

I remind people, especially the younger generation that the UK is no longer a powerful empire, but today a small country reliant for the most on our European partners. Yes there are other countries we could trade with but would be be any better off ?

Todays world is a more dangerous world with little Hitlers who would if ever they have their own way destroy our freedom and way of life. The free world is ever they have their way destroy our freedom and way of life. The free world faces more danger today than at any other time in its history, with Russia, China and North Korea flexing their muscles, not to mention the many terrorist threats to us an world freedom.

Yes there’s  always room for improvement no doubt but surely that can only come if we keep our heads geared to right thinking.

No way is perfect, but as the saying goes, it is better to be safe than sorry.
