MANAGER Martin Thomas says Lye Town's team spirit will see them get back on track.

Town suffered back-to-back defeats when losing 3-1 at home to AFC Wulfrunians last Saturday.

The loss followed a shock 3-0 defeat at the hands of 17th-placed Brocton last Tuesday and brought a brilliant run of form to an end.

Lye had previously lost just one game in ten to push themselves to the summit of the Midland Football League's Premier Division.

However, joint-boss Thomas is backing his players to bounce back.

"We have a great group of lads," he said. "It is the best dressing room I have ever known and that will help them get back on track.

"Their attitude is really good."

Against AFC Wulfrunians, Town conceded after just four minutes when Ryan Talbot broke the deadlock for the visitors.

Liam Bood doubled their advantage in the second half before Ricky Anslow cut the deficit before the hour mark. Substitute Demetri Brown wrapped up the win for the visitors with a strike in the 82nd minute.

"It was another case of suffered because we didn't take our chances," added Thomas.

"Players made the wrong decisions on the ball and failed to make the most of our opportunities in front of goal."

Lye don't have a game this Saturday but are sweating on the fitness of a host of players ahead of next Tuesday's game away at Quorn.

Key man James Spray missed the AFC Wulfrunians game with a muscle problem.

Others on the treatment table include Scott Gennard, Damian Whitcombe, Craig Gregg and Billy Russell.
