STOURBRIDGE captain Matt Bradley is looking forward to helping the club progress again this season.

He has taken over the role from brother Richard for the coming campaign and thinks his side's continuity will stand them in good stead.

After last season's fourth place finish in Division Two of the Birmingham and District League, the club have only added all-rounder Jack Stanier from Oldswinford ahead of this Saturday's opener away at Penkridge.

However, Bradley thinks the fact they have kept the majority of the side together will help them move forwards.

He said: "Our main aim is to continue the progress we made last season. We want to solidify our position and grow as a side.

"Jack Stanier looks a good addition and we are also going to try and bring through some of our younger players.

"I think the fact we have kept the team together will be a big strength for us. We don't have any box office players but we are a really good unit.

"Last season petered out a little and our aim will be to avoid that happening."

Brother Richard is still at the club but handed over the captaincy after four years in the position so he can concentrate on his batting.
